The hammock will be made out of two liners. The primary will be a 15’ x 30’ perimeter nylon or steel rope with a breaking strength of 15,000lbs. The rope is durable and soft to the hands making it an idea material for outdoor play areas. To attach to the tree truck, ½” double braid tree rigging sling will be used on all 4 trees. We do not intend to drill into the trees and care will be taken so as not to damage the trees. The Compact steel D Carabiner will connect the rigging sling and to the extra high strength nylon or steel rope that is woven through the sewn rope border of the custom weave hammock. Directed by our textile collaborator, Myla Tak, the secondary liner is a decorative custom made weave pattern woven into the primary perimeter structure. The secondary liner is a contemporary version of the hammock weave that begins to catch light and filters the light through the hammock. The pattern will have variations in color. The 15’ x 30’ wide hammock will be located between four trees and will hang 30” high from the ground. The hanging points will be approximately 6'-8' tall.
